Head - Hand - Heart
Kleine Knirpse Quincy is an early childhood education program serving our
local community. Judy Percy is the director and teacher leading this new early childhood program; she holds a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Quincy University and a Master's Degree in Leadership and Advocacy from Erikson Institute. She is a native German speaker and has seven years of French instruction. We serve children from 3 - 6 years, and our groups are, at most, ten students.
Your child is the curriculum. We are child-centered, play-based, and relationship driven. Children have autonomy over the structure of their day. They are encouraged to follow their interest. Teachers are the facilitators and support, supply the materials, create the environment, and assist children where needed. Play is honored, and interruptions are limited to allow the child the natural flow of wonder, discovery, and learning. Play is the vehicle to obtain knowledge and skills for future academic success and builds strong confidence and social skills. Each week new learning invitations and provocations will be available. Children can choose from art, language, math, music, and literature activities. During the day, German language opportunities, such as songs, games, and activities, are intertwined to increase comprehensible input.
Music Lingua Quincy offers additional weekly German Language Classes
to strengthen everyday learning during this program.
Music Lingua is an introduction to German through songs and movements for children 0-8. Hallo Anna offers a structured curriculum from preschool to elementary. Kleine Knirpse Quincy will utilize elements of Hallo Anna, Music Lingua, and other German resources during this time.
